Technical progress

The Lightning Bitcoin development team has updated the GitHub codebase and is working on the next generation of the LBTC blockchain-based DeFi product. The launch of the new product will enable the LBTC blockchain to become a cross-chain bridge linking the Bitcoin ecosystem and the Ethereum ecosystem.

The LBTC development team has researched digital blind signature technology and plans to integrate it into the LBTC blockchain in the second half of the year.

Product Progress

The Lightning Bitcoin wallet is being updated. We will expand the light wallet into a cross-chain wallet that supports various DeFi applications and tokens. The development is expected to be completed by the end of February.

Community Development

On January 14, LBTC officially announced on Twitter the launch of the new plan for 2021. The 2021 roadmap is also being developed and will be announced at an appropriate time.

On January 18, LBTC established the LBTC UK DeFi laboratory in London, and invested an initial $10 million in the laboratory. The laboratory has recruited three developers who have joined the existing development team at LBTC and are now recruiting new developers. DeFi Labs focuses on implementing DeFi innovations on the LBTC blockchain and invests in early DeFi projects.

On January 18, the number of LBTC blocks exceeded 22 million.

On January 27, the LBTC core developer team launched the changes to the LBTC architecture.

Team

The team has added 3 new developers, who are responsible for smart contract development, architecture development and algorithm research respectively. Two are from Amazon and one is from ARM.

LBTC is looking for an engineer who is well versed in Solidity and C++ to assist the existing team in developing new products, as well as a Business Manager responsible for the European market.
